NEW DELHI: A trial court has directed the Delhi police to register an FIR against a private firm and its three directors for allegedly duping DLF of Rs 20 crore on pretext of providing it land in Jaipur.
"The DCP, Economic Offence Wing (EOW), is directed to get an FIR registered in present case which would be investigated by police officer not below the rank of inspector," additional chief metropolitan magistrate Amit Bansal said.
The court's order came on a complaint by DLF Home Developers Limited seeking registration of FIR against the company and its directors. Advocate Manoj Taneja, appearing for the real estate major, said the accused approached DLF Home Developers, which needed plots in Jaipur for business purposes.
The accused misrepresented that they had necessary expertise and infrastructure in the field of land procurement and consolidation job, Taneja submitted. An MoU was signed between both the parties in November 2006 and DLF paid Rs 20 crore in cheques, he said.
